The Social Network for Dogs and Cats

Friday, June 27th, 2008

Now we've seen it all: Dogster and Catster are social networks for, well, dogs and cats. Oh, and the humans that love them. Think this is a stupid idea? Well, you'd be wrong. Ted Rheingold, founder and "Top Dog" tell us just what's behind this successful company. We gave him a treat so he behaved.

Hey, why not record your own video response on Youtube - and insert the url here.

Great interview, great to hear about a company with a sound business model and bringing in revenue from day 1.

I really liked this interview, very informative and inspiring. First thing that came to mind was snakester ;P Then of course he explained how he planned on expanding to all pets-- great to hear.

I also was able to find the cat I want, and am able to adopt it now. Thanks Ted.

For me it's two examples: One of Scobleizer making something happen by just being himself and getting out there. And Two of Ted building a business based on a passion.

Follow your passion (even if it's more than 4 hours per week - sorry Tim)

Dugg it, because Dogster & Catster rule... Great interview guys.

This is a good example of a company building growth with viral marketing. A lot of good info at the end of the video.

great interview and great info for entrepreneurs. I loved the part about how his wife took his business to a new level just by posting in craigslist. Thanks guys.

Hi Scoble, you got an error on the catster link, missing a 't' in the url.
