This seems like a great product. I hope it will be out in the UK very soon.
Robert, thanks for the review. This looks like a product I could use and simple enough to buy for any friends or relatives.

This is exceptional and on my 'must have' list for 2009.
I've been hesitant to jump into the NAS pool for months now trying to figure out which device/approach would be best. I think pogoplug has jumped to the head of the class.
A couple of things I worry about. It looks like the device depends on their servers for the setup and internet stuff. But if they go under will the device stop working completely? The low cost makes this pretty low risk but I'd still like to know whether it would retain any functionality if their cloud went poof.
The other thing I wonder about is file transfer speed. Should I expect that transfer speeds between the pogoplug attached HD and other computers/devices on my home network will be as fast as if the USB drive was directly attached to those devices? I understand moving files via the internet will be limited to my upload/download ISP speeds but would hope that the internal network speed would be fast enough for iTunes/Tivo streaming from the pogoplug.
It sure does look like a really cool product.
We cover that in the video. Try uploading 1.5 terabytes of photos to dropbox. It's possible, just takes forever. They are quite different.
how is this different from dropbox? and why again do I need to plug it to the wall?
